I had originally tried to do a look inspired by the Mega Man villain Air Man. His colors are yellow and blue and I thought it would be a little challenge with blending to try and keep green out of it. As I was working, I realized that this looked a lot more like Dory from Finding Nemo. So that’s what this turned into, I hope you like it! Unfortunately I only have photos of the eyes, so no full face photo!

I started off with NYX Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil in Milk all over the lid, up into the crease. Taking a flat eye shadow brush, I packed on NYX Eyeshadow in Mellow Yellow all over the lid and inner corner. Taking Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Radium I cut the crease, blending it up with a pencil brush. Using that same brush I went back in using MAC Eyeshadow in Atlantic Blue creating the shape I wanted. I applied Radium to the lower lash line and waterline, then set it with Atlantic Blue. I swept that outward, cleaned my brush, and then applied some of the Mellow Yellow to the gap between them.

I topped if off with some liquid liner and the Katy Perry Oh My! Lashes. In hindsight, I would have liked the blue in the crease to be stronger, and my liner cleaner and the whole thing blended a lot better. I’m trying to start stepping out my comfort zone look wise. I feel like I can do the craziest things on other people, but always the same colors/shape on myself.

About Valerie Vanity

I am a freelance makeup artist and a stay at home mom, I LOOVVVVEEE all things beautiful and sparkly. There are very few looks that I wouldn’t try to pull off, and I just love playing with makeup. I was inspired to start this blog when I found that I couldn’t really find very many beauty bloggers out there that are willing to speak in layman’s terms (took me forever to get the hang of “warm grey with a subtle blue shift”. The funny thing is, now I talk like that! But I do my best to describe techniques and products in way that doesn’t confuse or intimidate.

  1. Jordan says:

Looks good…I like the cut crease!

  2. Thanks! I would definitely change the lashes if I did this again. It was sort of my first REALLY dramatic look.
