I am currently testing out the L’Oreal EverFree Shampoo and Conditioner and grabbed this masque and an overnight treatment while they were all $5.99 at Rite-Aid. A little background, my hair is destroyed. I bleach it into submission and color it red. I think the only thing I do nice to it is I can refrain from washing it for a week or more. You aren’t meant to wash your hair every day, it’s irritating to your scalp and can damage your hair, and I’ve been slowly training my hair to go longer and longer between washes. My hair stylist (Kelly at Vain in Seattle) goes almost 2 weeks and her hair always looks AWESOME.
I started using this masque a month ago and am okay with the results. I was expecting a more dramatic change, but my hair felt just slightly better than when I use the EverFree Conditioner. After shampooing my hair under some (ICE) cold water, I ring the water out of my hair and lightly dry it a bit with my towel. I popped the towel in the dryer and went and applied the masque, first to the tips of my hair and then further up, almost to the roots. I then wrapped the warm towel around my head and hung out for about 30 minutes. The directions say leave it on about 3-5 minutes, while you’re in the shower, but I wash my hair separately and I always leave deep conditioners and masques on a little longer than I’m meant too.
The masque smells really nice, very herbal and clean. When I rinsed it out I noticed less hair breaking off and going down the drain, which is pretty awesome. Since using this I haven’t really noticed a difference in softness or manageability to my hair, but I’m going to finish using the masque up. Pretty much after I blow dried it, the softness from the masque went away, but I think it is still worth checking out if you have a lot of issues with breakage since I HAVE noticed a big decrease in how brittle my hair is.
