Sorry I’ve been a little MIA lately, I’ve been working, signing up for COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL, and working on getting over being sick. Oh and I have a 19 month old. Plenty of reasons to be tired and (if you ask the fiance) grumpy. I received all of the MAC Guilty Passions Sets for Christmas and this was a look I put together using all of the shades in the Brilliantly Cool set to test the wear. I ended up hating using them all together. For my every day makeup looks I seldom use more than four shades and because these are a little tough to blend I had an even better time (not).

I was also testing out Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara that I got in my gratis at work, everyone just loooooooves this mascara, am I the only one that thinks it’s super clumpy? Not dry clumps like a lot of drugstore mascaras can be but gloopy and thick and hard to spread around the lashes. It’s growing on me the more I play with it though. Moss Garden was used on the lid, She’s Got Class on the inner corner, I’ve Got  A Crush On You in the Crease and outer 1/3, and Spruced on the lower lash line. This first photo shows you really accurately the glittery sheen that Moss Garden has, it was gorgeous. I’ve Got A Crush On You reminded me a lot of MAC’s Club, but I don’t have it to compare. Also used on the eyes were Urban Decay’s Primer Potion and MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Engraved. I think I used MAC Vanilla Eye Shadow to highlight the brow.

On the rest of the face:
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer
NARS Sheerglow Foundation in Siberia (IN LOVE WITH THIS)
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Deep
Wet N Wild ColorIcon Blush in Pearlescent Pink
MAC Pigment in Pink Opal
Estee Lauder Pure Color Shimmer Gloss in Orchid Passion

Did you get any of these sets? What was your favorite one and how do you like to use it?

About Valerie Vanity

I am a freelance makeup artist and a stay at home mom, I LOOVVVVEEE all things beautiful and sparkly. There are very few looks that I wouldn’t try to pull off, and I just love playing with makeup. I was inspired to start this blog when I found that I couldn’t really find very many beauty bloggers out there that are willing to speak in layman’s terms (took me forever to get the hang of “warm grey with a subtle blue shift”. The funny thing is, now I talk like that! But I do my best to describe techniques and products in way that doesn’t confuse or intimidate.

That eyeshadow looks so shimmery and wonderful! I bet it looked amazing in person!

  2. It did! It was glittery and gorgeous, a mess to apply but worth it!

I love the eye makeup. It looks gorgeous on you. I love a little shimmer sometimes. I myself have read great reviews on the Benefit They’re Real Mascara. I was planning on purchasing it since I’ve always been on the search for the perfect mascara. Now I’m hesitant to purchase it.
