MAC Guilty Passions Crushed Metallic Pigment Sets ($32.50 MAC Counters, sold out online) are described as “ four stackable jars of Pigment in rich molten metallic colour.”

The third and final set I have for you today is the “Sweetly Smoky” Set. This set includes Dusty Desire, Prettified, Femininity, and Maribu. These pigments can be applied wet or dry. My preferred method for all of them is to use them dry, with my finger. On the chunkier pigments, you may have to “crush” up the little pebbles of pigment and glitter to create a powder for application.

Prettified is a cool metallic brown with silver sparkle. The sparkle is a lot more pronounced when used dry. Although this one is fall out prone, I love it! The shade is really beautiful and it actually blends really well. I got around 5 hours of wear with this one.

Maribu is a pale pinked silver. This one really relies on the metallic finish to make it outstanding. I prefer this one used wet, which is one of the few of this formula that I do. Dry, it tends to cling together and not apply evenly. Gorgeous as an inner corner highlight but a little too much metallic for me elsewhere.

Femininity- vibrant pink with a very strong blue duo-chrome. As expected, the duo chrome in this is a lot stronger when applied wet than it is dry. Dry this one applied fairly sheer, and it sort of grabbed the lid in spots and stayed there, making it tough to blend. When applied wet this one had the tendency to look “crepe-y” on the lid. I really wanted to love it, but with the tough application and blending I really don’t see myself reaching for it very often, if at all.

Dusty Desire- dark violet with silver sparkle. WordPress is totally messing with the “macro” shot above, making it appear a lot lighter, I would have nixed it but I wanted you to be able to see the texture this guy has. Definitely a standout shade in the set. Really pigmented and easy to blend when applied dry and absolutely stunning when wet. This would look beautiful when incorporated into a smoky eye. Dust Desire did sort of stain my lid a bit when applied wet, which is the only pigment out of all of these sets to do so.

About Valerie Vanity

I am a freelance makeup artist and a stay at home mom, I LOOVVVVEEE all things beautiful and sparkly. There are very few looks that I wouldn’t try to pull off, and I just love playing with makeup. I was inspired to start this blog when I found that I couldn’t really find very many beauty bloggers out there that are willing to speak in layman’s terms (took me forever to get the hang of “warm grey with a subtle blue shift”. The funny thing is, now I talk like that! But I do my best to describe techniques and products in way that doesn’t confuse or intimidate.
